In 1994 vestigde Comedy Café Amsterdam zich op het Max Euweplein in Amsterdam en ondertussen is de comedyclub op cultureel vlak niet meer weg te denken uit de hoofdstad. Van heinde en ver kwamen mensen naar Amsterdam voor een hilarisch avondje uit en in de loop der jaren verwierven veel stand-up comedians en cabaretiers landelijke bekendheid, mede door het podium dat Comedy Café ze bood.

Zo stonden de afgelopen decennia bv. Javier Guzman, Edson da Graça, Nabil Aoulad Ayad, Roel C. Verburg, Rayen Panday, Peter Pannekoek, Arie Koomen, Martijn Koning, Alex Ploeg, Najib Amhali, Kasper van der Laan en Soundos el Ahmadi regelmatig op het podium in Comedy Café.

Tussen de covid lockdowns in besloot de oudste comedyclub van Nederland juist uit te gaan breiden. Sinds Oktober 2021 is er een tweede vestiging in Utrecht! Midden in het centrum, aan de Oudegracht 205 is hard gewerkt aan iets unieks. In een authentieke werfkelder werd een comedy theater gerealiseerd, maar Comedy & Kitchen Utrecht is meer dan alleen maar comedyshows. Boven de werfkelder zat jarenlang Grieks restaurant Rhodos en daar vind je nu een restaurant vol comedy beleving, waar gasten voorafgaand aan de voorstellingen lekker à la carte kunnen eten en genieten van mooie wijnen, speciaalbiertjes & cocktails. Zo creëerden wij een culturele hotspot voor een compleet avondje uit in hartje Utrecht.

In 1994 Comedy Café Amsterdam established themselves on the Max Euweplein in Amsterdam and in the meantime the comedy club has become an indispensable part of the capital on a cultural level. People come from far and wide for a hilarious night out with good food and the best drinks and cocktails.

Over the years many stand-up comedians have gained national fame, partly due to the stage that Comedy Café offered them. Some of the comedians we have welcomed to our stage are: Doug Standhope, Donell Rawlings, Edson da Graça, Tony Woods, Bob Maclaren, Nabil Aoulad Ayad, Rayen Panday, Peter Pannekoek, Arie Koomen, Martijn Koning, Alex Ploeg, Najib Amhali, Kasper van der Laan, and Soundos el Ahmadi.

The oldest comedy club in the Netherlands is now expanded, with a second location in Utrecht, called Comedy & Kitchen! Right in the center, on the Oudegracht 205, we are currently working hard on something unique. A comedy theatre is being realized in an authentic wharf cellar, but Comedy & Kitchen Utrecht is more than just comedy shows. For many years, the Greek restaurant Rhodos was located above the wharf cellar and there is now a restaurant full of comedy experience, where guests can eat a delicious à la carte dinner before the performances and enjoy fine wines, specialty beers & cocktails. This is how we created a cultural hotspot for a complete night out in the heart of Utrecht.
